What kind of reality should we expect for our future everyday lives ?
Two visionaries give us answers to open the 5th iX symposium on The Conquest of Reality.

The world, the reality we live in, is expected to change : our screens in 360°, our cities layered with augmented reality, virtual reality headsets assisting in hospitals, will all be part of our everyday life. The barriers between the real and the virtual worlds are continuing to fade, new horizons are spreading and our perception is becoming more complex.

This new, manifold reality, we wish to understand it, experiment it, know how it will change our habits but also generate them. This is what the 5th edition of the iX symposium will offer you by discussing the theme of The Conquest of Reality, from May 29 to June 2, 2018, at the Society for Arts and Technology.

For the opening, we are honoured to announce a keynote by two great scholars on the subject : Nora Bateson, the visionary author encouraging us to reinvent science; and Eames Demetrios, builder of parallel universes.

See you on May 29th at 7 pm in the Satosphere !

NORA BATESON (Stockholm)

Nora Bateson is an award-winning filmmaker, writer and educator, as well as President and founder of the International Bateson Institute (Sweden). This research center aims at rethinking the fundamentals of science in the spirit of her father, anthropologist Gregory Bateson and her grandfather, geneticist William Bateson. Her work asks the question, “How we can improve our perception of the complexity we live within, so we may improve our interaction with the world?”
